Inauguration of the Bogor Raya 1 Waste-to-Energy Plant
Waste management is not only a challenge for us today. It is also a challenge that will shape the environment and quality of life of future generations.
That is why I am encouraged to see Danantara Indonesia continue to accelerate sustainable, technology-driven solutions for waste management. On September 17, 2026, we officially began the construction of the Bogor Raya 1 Waste-to-Energy Facility (PSEL) in Galuga Village, Cibungbulang, Bogor Regency.
This marks the third PSEL facility being developed following PSEL Bali and PSEL Kota Bekasi.
The Bogor Raya 1 facility is expected to process more than 500,000 tonnes of waste annually, while reducing emissions from landfills by up to 80% and carbon emissions by approximately 640,000 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent each year. The project is also expected to reduce landfill land requirements by up to 80%, create around 1,200 green jobs, and generate enough energy to potentially supply more than 100,000 households.
We are also committed to ensuring that each PSEL project adopts high environmental and technological standards. The facility will use moving grate incinerator technology combined with an Air Pollution Control System (APCS), with environmental standards aligned with the European Union Industrial Emissions Directive (EU IED).
For me, projects like this are ultimately about more than infrastructure. They are about building a healthier and more sustainable future for the generations that come after us.
I hope what we are building today can contribute to a future where Indonesia is better equipped to address its waste challenges and create healthier communities for our children.
