I had the opportunity to celebrate Batik Day while spending the day in a series of meetings with colleagues from Bank Indonesia, including Governor Destry Damayanti, as well as with Mr. Suahasil Nazara, Minister of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia.

Our discussions focused on strengthening coordination and ensuring greater synergy across institutions as we work together to support Indonesia’s economic progress.

I also had the opportunity to exchange views with Mark Beer, OBE, former Chief Executive of the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) Courts. His insights on building world-class institutions were particularly valuable, especially on how strong institutions can help attract and mobilize capital for a country with Indonesia’s potential.

Building a stronger Indonesia requires collaboration, institutional excellence, and a shared commitment to creating long-term value.
