Pandu was born in Boston and studied in the US, earning an MBA from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business

Pandu Patria Sjahrir is a seasoned investor and entrepreneur in Southeast Asia, with a particular focus on Indonesia’s energy transition and digital infrastructure; as well as the digitalization of Indonesia’s economy at large. His investments in various technology companies are part of his strategic effort to underpin equal, pervasive access to economic opportunities and establish an environmentally sustainable foundation for the nation. Specifically, through his investment endeavor in financial technology and data centers, Pandu aims to leverage internet-driven innovation and AI to address Indonesia’s income inequality. His commitment to improving environmental quality is further demonstrated by his involvement in climate and sustainability technology companies.

"For me, being an investor is more than just a job, it’s a calling. It taught me about myself and how I have to challenge my ways of thinking and to always have the proper level of humility and curiosity. Investing is a lifelong journey."

In the nation’s digital economy, Pandu is managing partner at Indies Capital and founding partner of AC Ventures, a leading venture capital firm backing early-stage tech startups focused on Indonesia and ASEAN. The firm’s vision is to be a generational partner to founders driving positive societal change and economic impact in Indonesia and beyond.

Over the past 15 years, as a prominent multi-stage investor, Pandu – leveraging his global network – has been a protagonist in raising over US$2 billion for more than 100 companies, creating 220,000 new jobs and nurturing 300 new entrepreneurs in Indonesia and the Southeast Asia region. With an extensive role in Indonesia’s investment and innovation communities, Pandu believes in the nation’s inherent economic potential and its endeavor to transform from a resource-rich to value-adding-downstream-industries-based country.

On the sustainability front, Pandu’s ambitious goal in the energy sector is to realize a net zero emissions target by 2060, in accordance with Indonesia’s commitment to the Paris Agreement.
