The United Nations General Assembly week in New York was an opportunity for me to share more about Danantara Indonesia while, more importantly, bringing Indonesia’s story and potential to a global audience.
I always enjoy talking about what makes Indonesia unique and the opportunities ahead of us. During this week, I had the chance to share some of the work we are pursuing, from sustainable waste management to building a global protein platform, while also exploring opportunities for future collaboration with strategic partners.
Over the course of two days, I met and exchanged ideas with a diverse group of stakeholders, including global business leaders, economists, policymakers, and media executives. I also had the opportunity to speak with Eric Trump, David Solomon, Mike Bloomberg, Jane Fraser, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Prime Minister of Qatar, and Mohammed Al-Sowaidi, CEO of Qatar Investment Authority.
I was equally pleased to meet members of the Indonesian diaspora in New York through “Danantara buat Diaspora.” Beyond sharing an update on Danantara’s progress, the session gave me an opportunity to listen to their perspectives, questions, and suggestions.
I believe Indonesia has a strong right to win and the potential to achieve much more. But realizing that potential will take time, hard work, and collaboration. It requires partnerships across institutions, businesses, and countries.
Conversations like these are an important starting point. Step by step, we can build stronger connections and turn Indonesia’s potential into meaningful progress.
