For international surfers, Indonesia is known as the best surfing destination in the world. However, unfortunately, the sport of surfing is still relatively unknown to the Indonesian public and the world.

In the first National Congress of the Indonesian Surfing Association (PSOI) on January 17, 2023, I conveyed my vision to expand public attention towards the sport of surfing.

With the hope that this awareness will eventually result in the presence of new athletes for Indonesian surfing.

In addition, this sport’s recognition can also boost Indonesia’s potential for marine tourism and provide sustainable welfare impacts for more people.

I also have a big dream that this sport can be known and enjoyed as a sport that never discriminates, and still contributes medals in every championship.

With all due respect and humility, I would like to express my gratitude to the Chairman of the PSOI period 2019-2022, Arya Subyakto, the Secretary-General of the PSOI, Tipi Jabrik, and all the staff who have entrusted me to carry out my duties as the Chairman of the PSOI Board for the period 2023-2027.

All the steps taken today and the future efforts that I will continue to make are certainly our hope for a more advanced, modern, and successful surfing sport and of course, unite all Indonesians through sports.
